04 Nov What Animal Am I?
It’s What Animal am I Wednesday!
Hello, can you guess who I am?
We first appeared on Earth around 445 Million Years ago, and so I am considered a living Fossil! Today there are four different species of me, which can be found around southeast Asia and the eastern coast of the USA. I have a hard shell with a big round head and a long pointy tail. Even though I look scary, I am totally harmless. I’ll happily eat almost anything I can find including clams, worms, algae, or dead fish. I have 10 legs and 10 eyes which include spots that can detect light on my tail! I have very good vision and can even see UV light. I have very special blue blood that contains a special substance that reacts to certain types of bacteria, and this is used to test vaccines and hospital equipment and make sure they are safe to use.
