National Science Week 2026

Celebrating Seeds of Science with National Science Week UNE Discovery Voyager are holding a series of free events across Armidale and welcome the whole community to come along and be involved!

Seeds of Science Art Competition

We invite artists of all ages to submit artworks that explore the beauty, complexity, and vital importance of botany, seeds, and the life that begins below the surface. Whether through drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, or digital media, we encourage creative interpretations that explore the science, wonder, and diversity of the plant world.

Artworks will be displayed in a public exhibition that will commence on Friday 21 August, in UNE’s Dixson Library and continue until the end of September. Entrants and the public are invited to the exhibition opening and awards evening on Friday 21 August, where the competition winners will be announced. The evening will also feature a presentation from UNE Botany. Entries are open until 6pm 31 July 2026!
