The UNE Discovery Voyager is the only program of its scale and depth in northern NSW. In its first two years of operation, the Voyager’s dynamic team of scientists, communicators and educators have facilitated hands-on, exploratory experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/Agriculture & Maths (STEAM) for more than 15,000 students in 197 schools across regional, rural and remote northern NSW. The syllabus-aligned activities cater to students in years K-10, and span a broad range of topics, from chemistry, biology and physics to agtech, coding, palaeontology, and sport science.
Engaging children in STEAM helps them develop inquiry and critical thinking skills, and our programs encourage students to direct their own learning and explore possibilities for themselves. A play-based approach helps students acquire a love of learning; curiosity and creativity can be their biggest asset, and we love watching it blossom, no matter how they use it.
